Web Conferencing
SoftQuest's Media Gateway is a web based solution for the streaming and management of audio/visual data in real-time. The Media Gateway can facilitate web conferencing using streaming any or all of the following in real time.
- Audio
- Video
- Text messaging
- Transfer of files
- Display of images or video files
- Virtual whiteboard
- Pre-planned slide presentation
- Conference organisation and preparation tools
- Conference recording
Web conferencing can take several formats, the main formats being:
Video Call (one-to-one)
The most basic video conference is a one-to-one video call. Text and file transfer are also available.
Video Seminar
One video stream is relayed to multiple viewers - all of which need to log in or be invited into the Seminar. A video seminar will have a facilitator, who has total control of the seminar and moderators who can control viewer interaction before, during and after the seminar.
Video Conferencing
All participants in the conference can view each other and talk to each other. A video conference will have a facilitator and moderators in the same way that a seminar does.
Enriched Video Conferencing
Enriched Video Conferencing is video conferencing with extra features to create a highly interactive experience. Additional features include:
Sub-Conferencing
Individual conference members can be involved in their own separate and private conference at the same time that the main conference is running.
Private Video/VoIP/Text Chat
Individual members can talk privately with each other during the main conference.
Virtual Whiteboard
The facilitator has control of a virtual 'whiteboard' that all conference participants can view. The facilitator can draw, type and add images to the whiteboard using a simple graphic interface. Changes made to whiteboard are reflected on the whiteboards of the other participants in real time. The facilitator can transfer control of the whiteboard to other participants.
Pre-planned Presentation Slides
Presentation Slides can be created as image files and uploaded prior to the conference. The facilitator can then show these on the whiteboard and annotate them during the conference.
Media Streaming
Media can be streamed to all or some of the conference members during the course of the conference.
File and Note Distribution
Allows members to send files and/or text messages to one or more conference members.
Silent Conference Members
Certain conference members can be given viewing access only, this allows them to view the conference, but not actively participate.
Conference Recording
The conference can be recorded and then downloaded at a later date as video file.
