Qfax - IP Fax Gateway

Qfax is a fax over IP gateway that allows your customers to send and receive faxes to anywhere over the internet, with all the benefits of the low call rates enjoyed by VoIP users.

Customers are a assigned a regular fax number (DID number) that can be used from anywhere, as long as the customer's computer is connected to the internet.

Sending Faxes over IP with Qfax

To send a fax using Qfax the customer sends an email containing the fax contents to special email address. PDF attachments can also be sent allowing images or scanned information to be included in the fax. A confirmation email is then sent back to the customer with an activation link. This is to stop other people from abusing the customer's Qfax service. Once confirmed, the fax is then sent as a regular fax to the destination fax machine. The customer's assigned fax number will appear on the fax as the number that the fax was sent from. Customers are billed for any faxes sent at the time of the faxes being sent.

Receiving faxes with Qfax.

People sending faxes to the customer will simply send a fax to the customer's fax number as they would with any other regular fax. The Qfax customer will receive the fax as email, with the contents of the fax attached as an image.

Multiple Fax-out

Qfax customers can send the same fax to multiple destinations simultaneously by attaching a text file containing the destination numbers. When Qfax processes the fax information the text file is parsed and the fax is sent to individual fax numbers in the text file.

Core Modules

    Single Fax Domain Support
Manages the domains for which a fax can be created in the system. The default is only for one domain.

    Single Destination Number per Fax
Manages how emails are routed to endpoints in the system. The default setup only allows for one fax to be sent at a time.

    Fax CDR Module
Management the logging of FAX CDR details to the database.

    Fax Service/Cost Management
Provides the ability to relate different classes of Fax service to their associated costs.

    Fax Number Provisioning
This module handles the provisioning of fax numbers and their association with different classes of users.

    Web Based Administrator Management
Allows administration of all SoftQuest modules (including the Qfax IP gateway) from a single web interface.

Optional Modules

    Multiple Fax Domain Support
This module gives service providers with the ability to host multiple fax domains.

    Multiple Destination Numbers per Fax
Gives Qfax users the ability to send bulk faxes from a single email.

    Auto Failover
Allows the Qfax Fax Gateway to auto-switch destination endpoints of calls based on certain conditions. The conditions typically hold when the endpoint is busy or unavailable. Calls can switch from the cheapest endpoint provider to the 'next cheapest' available. Calls can also switch based on the end point priority values set if the call was configured to be based on routing tables.

    Fax Billing/Invoice
This module enables the billing and invoicing of Faxes. This integrates seamlessly with SoftQuest's Customer Care and Billing (CCB) Package and BillQuest application.

    Multiple Fax Server Gateway
This module enables the service provider to manage multiple Virtual Fax Servers from a central point.
